Dyneema® is 15 times stronger than steel on a weight-for-weight basis. Besides being lightweight and virtually indestructible, Dyneema is also highly thermally conductive (keeps your body cool), supple (feels like silk on your skin), chemically inert, hydrophobic insert space(water repellent) and UV-resistant.
Extraordinarily strong due to a patented gel-spinning process. During this precess the fibers are drawn, heated, elongated, and cooled. Stretching and spinning the fiber leads to molecular alignment, high crystallinity and low density.
